Terms of Use

Last updated: April 2026

Plain-language summary.By using The Vow Day you agree to these terms. The app is provided “as is”. If you’re the couple, you’re responsible for the guest list you upload and for getting permission from your guests to collect their info. Please don’t use the service for spam, harassment, or anything illegal.

1. What this is

The Vow Day (“the Service”) is a web application that helps couples plan their wedding seating, collect RSVPs, and communicate with guests. The Service is operated by The Vow Day(“we”, “us”). Contact: info@seatedinloves.com.

2. Who these terms apply to

  • Operators / couples— anyone who creates a wedding, adds guests, or invites collaborators. This is the main audience for these terms.
  • Guests— people responding to an RSVP link. By submitting an RSVP you agree that the information you provide can be shared with the couple and the helpers they’ve invited. See our Privacy Policy for details.
  • Collaborators— anyone an operator invites with a planner role (admin, editor, attendance, viewer). Your access is limited to the role the operator granted.

3. Your account

You can create an account with email + password or via Google / Apple sign-in. Keep your credentials private; you’re responsible for activity on your account. Let us know at info@seatedinloves.com if you think your account has been compromised.

You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live.

4. Your content and guest data

You keep ownership of everything you put into the Service — your guest list, your seating chart, the content of your wedding website, uploaded images, and so on.

You grant us a limited licence to host, store, and display that content solely to run the Service for you. We do not use your content to train AI models, for advertising, or for any purpose unrelated to operating the Service.

Important:If you upload information about other people — guests, their emails, their phone numbers, their dietary or religious preferences — you confirm that you have the right to do so and that you will handle that data responsibly. Under data-protection law you are the “data controller” for your guest list; we act as a “data processor” on your behalf. You are responsible for informing your guests what you’re collecting and why, and for obtaining any consent required in your jurisdiction (especially for sensitive categories like health or religion).

5. Acceptable use

Don’t use the Service to:

  • Send unsolicited commercial messages, spam, or phishing through the email or WhatsApp broadcast features.
  • Collect information about people who haven’t been invited to your event, or invite people you don’t reasonably expect to attend.
  • Upload content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, infringing, defamatory, sexually explicit, or that promotes violence.
  • Attempt to access accounts, data, or parts of the system that don’t belong to you; probe, scan, or stress-test the Service; or interfere with other users’ access.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or rebuild the Service as a competing product.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice, especially when doing so is needed to protect other users or third parties.

6. Third-party services

The Service integrates with Anthropic (AI chat), an SMTP email provider, Meta / WhatsApp (broadcasts), and Google (Maps, Places, optional Analytics). Your use of those features means data flows to those providers as described in our Privacy Policy. Their own terms also apply to those interactions.

7. Service availability

We try to keep the Service running but can’t guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, change, or take parts of the Service down for maintenance. We may also discontinue features; where we can, we’ll give notice and a window to export your data.

8. Fees

If any part of the Service ever requires payment, the fee, billing period, and cancellation terms will be shown before you’re charged. Currently the Service is free to use.

9. Warranty disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or any warranty that the Service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted. We do not warrant that any data you enter is backed up, recoverable, or preserved in the event of a system failure. Keep your own copies of anything important.

Some jurisdictions don’t allow the exclusion of implied warranties; in those places, the above exclusion applies to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages — including lost profits, loss of data, loss of reputation, or emotional distress — arising from or in connection with your use of the Service, even if we’ve been advised of the possibility.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is capped at the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) USD $100.

Consumer-protection rules in your jurisdiction may give you rights that can’t be limited by these terms (for example the UK Consumer Rights Act, or non-excludable guarantees under EU / Australian consumer law). Those rights are not affected.

11. Indemnity

If a third party — most often one of your guests — brings a claim against us that arises from your guest list, the messages you sent from the Service, or your failure to get necessary consent, you agree to defend and indemnify us for that claim and any reasonable costs associated with it.

12. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your wedding from the app. We can suspend or end your access if you violate these terms or if we’re required to by law. On termination, we’ll delete your stored data on the usual retention schedule (see the Privacy Policy).

13. Changes to these terms

We’ll update this page when the terms change. If a change materially reduces your rights, we’ll try to notify active operators by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after the update means you accept the new terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which The Vow Day is based, without regard to conflicts-of-law rules. Nothing here overrides consumer-protection laws that apply where you live.

15. Contact

Questions, bug reports, or legal notices: info@seatedinloves.com.

These terms are a starting template and are not legal advice. If you use Seated in Love commercially, have a lawyer in your jurisdiction review them before accepting paying customers.
